Have your ever imagined a place where more than 200 hot air balloons fly over your head at the same time? That place exists! It is the Metropolitan Ecological Park of the city of Leon, Guanajuato.
For 15 years, this space welcomes numerous pilots from different parts of the world to bring to life the International Hot Air Balloon Festival (FIG) which, in its 2017 edition, has prepared an exciting agenda of events.
Everything starts (from November 17th to the 20th) at 6:30 am, when the ballons take off altogether (some of them in truly curious shapes like Darth Vader or SpongeBob) to dominate the skies of the Bajio for several hours.
At nigthfall, you can not miss the “Magic Nights” and concerts by renowned internacional artists. Local tip: take advantage of your stay in the “capital of leather”, to buy all kinds of shoes at very low price!
