The day begins calmly. The city is not yet fully awake, but at home, the aroma of freshly brewed Veracruz coffee from Chemex and the crunch of toasted bread with butter and jam mark the chef’s morning ritual. If she decides to go out, she opts for something more robust: some barbacoa norteña tacos, her infallible craving for Sunday breakfasts.
On her way out, her steps take her back to the everyday, to the heart of the city. In Chapultepec -but not the tourist selfie spot, but the second and third sections, less traveled- she disconnects from the noise. She walks among the trees, loses herself in the shadows and silences, and lets the city breathe away from the chaos.

Among markets, Jamaica is her favorite: for the fresh produce, of course, but also for the flowers, the plants, that colorful Mexico that is never missing. As for museums, the Tamayo gets her vote: contemporary, bold, always provocative.
For her, Mexican gastronomy is many things:
history, culture, tradition. But, above all, it is
pleasure. And every step of her day, from the
coffee to the last sip of mezcal, confirms it
