Jamaica Market

Famous for its flower lined aisles, the Jamaica Market is a burst of color and aroma. Ideal for early risers, this market operates 24 hours a day and offers everything from floral arrangements to fresh ingredients for a homemade mole. Beyond the flowers, you can also find traditional antojitos and exotic fruits.

San Juan Market

This market is the best kept secret of chefs and foodies. Here you can find gourmet ingredients such as European cheeses, exotic meats (would you dare with crocodile or lion?) and imported wines. Although it retains its popular essence, it is one of the most sophisticated markets in the city.

Segunda Calle de Ernesto Pugibet 21, Colonia Centro

La Lagunilla Market

This is the perfect place for those who are looking for antiques, folk art, retro furniture or simply want to browse through relics. The more adventurous can try a michelada while negotiating the price of a lamp from the 1960s. Visit it on Sundays.

República del Ecuador 59J, Lagunilla, Centro

Citadel Market

This is the ideal place for lovers of Mexican folk art. More than 350 stores offer embroidered textiles, “alebrijes”, ceramics, jewelry and handicrafts from all over the country. Perfect for carrying a piece of Mexico in your suitcase, and to understand the cultural diversity that makes up this metropolis.

36 Balderas S/N, Colonia Centro

Neighborhood markets

Every neighborhood has its heart in the local market. The Mercado Medellín, in the Roma neighborhood, stands out for its Latin American atmosphere, with products from Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba. In Coyoacán, the local market is a magnet for antojitos such as tinga tostadas or squash blossom quesadillas. And in San Angel, you’ll find handicrafts along with fresh fruits and homemade food.

Roma Market

A contemporary reinterpretation of the market concept. This space in the Roma neighborhood combines gourmet gastronomy, design and innovative culinary proposals in a hipster chic atmosphere. Ideal for tasting everything from signature tacos to craft beer, without losing the urban spirit of the city.

Querétaro 225, Roma Norte.
