Since its inception, Design Week Mexico has been a space that brings together the main players in the world of design, providing a platform for the exhibition and dissemination of new ideas, trends and emerging talents. This year, 2025, it celebrates 17 years, during which it has stood out for its ability to inspire, connect and foster collaboration between designers, architects, creatives and enthusiasts of this discipline.

Design Week Mexico, created by architect Andrea Cesarman, restaurateur and architect Marco Coello, and designer and architect Emilio Cabrero, is an annual event that takes place mainly in Mexico City during the months of October and November, and has among its highlights the promotion of the exchange of ideas and collaboration between professionals, with the aim of positioning our country as a hub of design in Latin America.

DUAL INSPIRATION

For this reason, each year it has a country and a state invited. In 2024, Colombia took that honor and presented its best designers, who worked together with artisans from Aguascalientes to develop pieces that tell the story of these new ways of creating art.

In this, its seventh edition, Design Week Mexico will feature a program that combines artist presentations with events, exhibitions and activities that will highlight the transformative power of design. From its Expo Territorio platform, a gallery that presents the collection of contemporary pieces, to Vision and Tradition, a residency program that unites designers and artisans in a unique experience.

In addition, all events are free except for the tours to the Design House, where the best architecture and interior design firms in the country gather to create extraordinary and surprising spaces. A

mong those who have participated are: Stuidoroca, Cúbica Arquitectos, Studio 84, Mood Estudio, Atelier Zuñiga López, Faci Leboreiro, De la Cerda Estudio Abitante, AD HOC and Brera Studio, among others.

At Design House, you can appreciate the perfect combination of furniture, finishes, lighting, accessories and art, all belonging to the renowned Design Dealers. Each space exhibited is a masterpiece in itself, reflecting the talent and creativity of the participating professionals.

Design House is a must-attend experience for those looking to be at the forefront of design and discover the latest trends in the world of interior design and Mexico’s most prominent players.

BEYOND DESIGN

Another crucial aspect of Design Week Mexico is its economic and cultural impact. It attracts national and international visitors, which boosts tourism and the local hotel industry. In addition, by highlighting Mexican talent and the country’s cultural richness, it strengthens national identity and promotes pride in Mexican creativity.

Finally, the public can enjoy the design tours that take place in galleries, art houses and studios of prominent artists, in order to recognize and learn about the work and creative processes behind their pieces.

In addition to its special section “Unpublished”, where new generations of architects, designers and artists participate and who are voted by the attendees so that, at the end of the event, they are recognized as the revelation of Design Week Mexico. Studios such as RIO Estudio, Rodrigo Noriega, The Cult and Hors Studio + Raúl de la Cerda Studio have participated.

Design Week Mexico is a showcase of what is made in Mexico. It is an event that builds the future of the design industry in Mexico and beyond.
