Until February 2026, the Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL) presents this exhibition Under the Sign of Saturn. Divination in Art, is a journey through the visual history of hermetic and divinatory sciences from a perspective of the cultural history of images and art history.
The exhibition proposes an approach to esoteric knowledge as a creative thinking device that has influenced different generations of artists. You will find pieces by Juan Téllez Toledo, Roberto Montenegro, Leonora Carrington, Dr. Atl and Lola Álvarez Bravo. Thus, through four thematic nuclei, the exhibition invites us to reflect on destiny, the unknown, the future and divination, from the territory of the arts.
Felipe Baeza: feeling a then and a there
Originally from Guanajuato, Felipe Baeza is a painter and engraver and this is his first exhibition at kurimanzutto. The exhibition brings together portraits, glass sculptures and works that combine engraving, collage and embroidery. Its title refers to the book Cruising Utopia: The Then and There of Queer Futurity (2009) by Cuban theorist José Esteban Muñoz.
In this exhibition, Baeza takes up Muñoz’s ideas to represent corporealities in transformation: bodies suspended, in flight, without fixed identity or defined belonging. His figures escape imposed limits and find new ways of inhabiting the world.
