Getting married in Mérida is much more than choosing a beautiful destination: it is living a magical experience that unites history, culture and romance in one place. This jewel of the Mexican southeast has gained fame as one of Mexico’s favorite wedding destinations, and it’s not hard to see why.

Mérida offers spectacular settings ranging from majestic colonial haciendas surrounded by greenery to hidden cenotes that look like something out of a fairy tale. Its architecture, a blend of Mayan tradition and colonial heritage, creates a unique atmosphere that you will hardly find anywhere else.

The city is known for its hospitality. The warmth of its people will make you and your guests feel welcome from the very first moment. In addition, its privileged location will allow your guests to explore the Caribbean beaches, Mayan archaeological sites such as Chichén Itzá and nearby magical towns such as Izamal.

TRADITION AND ROMANCE

In downtown Merida there are several boutique hotels for small weddings such as Casa Lecanda, with terraces for ceremonies for up to 40 people and a menu with typical dishes of Yucatecan cuisine. Others located around the Plaza Grande with outdoor rooms and spaces, as well as enough rooms for your guests, are: Mansión Mérida Hotel Boutique, Presidente InterContinental Mérida, Hyatt Regency Mérida or Las Brisas Mérida.

If you are interested in celebrating in one of the haciendas where henequen was produced in the 19th century, the closest ones are Hacienda Misné, with settings in the middle of lush gardens for weddings of up to 120 people. As well as Hacienda San Antonio Hool, with getting ready areas for the bride and groom, and multiple spaces for events such as its Chapel or the Power House, as well as a wine cellar and gardens for a weekend full of unforgettable moments. We also highlight, to the north, Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana Heritage Collection, which has inspiring and elegant venues. And for a more luxurious option, Chablé Yucatán with natural locations and sophisticated architecture, in addition to its world-class gastronomy
