Every February, Mexico City shifts its rhythm. Museums, galleries, and independent spaces come alive at once, and art moves beyond isolated visits to become an urban experience. In 2026, that energy returns with ZSONAMACO, Latin America’s most influential art fair, now celebrating its 22nd edition and reaffirming the city’s place on the global cultural map.

From February 4 to 8, Centro Banamex becomes a meeting point for more than 228 galleries from 26 countries, brought together on a single platform that spans contemporary and modern art, design, antiques, and photography. For international travelers, ZSONAMACO offers a direct way to understand how local perspectives engage with global conversations—within one immersive visit.

At the core of the fair is ZSONAMACO Mexico Contemporary Art, where painting, sculpture, installation, video, and new technologies converge. Emerging artists and established names are presented through multiple curatorial lenses that reflect the diversity of current practices. This is complemented by sections such as ZSONAMACO SUR, focused on critical viewpoints from the Global South; Modern Art, dedicated to key works of the 20th century; and Ejes, which explores cultural exchange in an increasingly fragmented world.

Design plays a central role as well. ZSONAMACO Design and Design Emergent showcase everything from furniture, jewelry, and textiles to experimental objects and limited editions, revealing how contemporary design moves between function and collectibility. Meanwhile, the Antiques Salon opens a window onto the past with high-value heritage pieces in dialogue with the present, and ZSONAMACO Foto approaches photography as an expanded, relational practice deeply connected to memory.

Beyond the fairgrounds, ZSONAMACO shapes the citywide Art Week, with talks by international voices, awards, openings, and exhibitions across museums and galleries in different neighborhoods. For first-time visitors, it’s a rare opportunity to explore the capital through art—pairing a cultural agenda with the city’s food, architecture, and nightlife.

ZSONAMACO 2026 is more than a fair. It’s the moment when Mexico City reveals itself as it truly is today: a constantly evolving creative laboratory, open to the world and deeply rooted in its history.
