Handshake Bar

It is the best bar in North America and is located in the Juárez neighborhood. Handshake, led by Eric van Beek, offers unexpected cocktails such as the Matcha Yuzu, made with whisky, matcha, yuzu, and vanilla, or the Piña Colada with brandy, coconut, pineapple, and cilantro sprouts.

Additionally, its interior design is another highlight, as it references the golden age of the mid-20th century. The cocktail preparation showcases the skill of the mixologists, who employ various techniques like clarification and fast wash.

Lounge Fernando

Located in the Condesa neighborhood, it offers a cocktail and food menu created by mixologist Alberto “Tau Ihuicipactli” Posadas and chef Oswaldo Toledo. The exceptional spirits included in the drink menu represent the essence of this bar’s mixology.

Highlights include Rosa Mexicano— featuring Pox, purple cabbage, and grapefruit juice—for its freshness and sophistication; Magia Negra—featuring Tequila, Narano, activated charcoal, yellow lime, and coconut glaze—which impresses with its texture; and Maya Tonic—featuring Gin, Huana, yellow lime, and tonic—which creates a balanced and refreshing flavor.

For a perfect pairing, you can order the tuna tostadas, marinated olives, or the mixed nuts with the house’s special seasoning. Lounge Fernando offers a weekly Happy Hour—from Monday to Thursday, from 4 to 7 pm, and every Sunday from 6 to 8 pm, with live DJ music.

Licorería Limantour

It is listed among The World’s 50 Best Bars. Limantour was the pioneer of the new bar revolution in Mexico City. The two level bar, led by Benjamin Padrón and José Luis León, is bursting with energy and continues to innovate its drink offerings.

Among its iconic cocktails are the Fluffy Paloma and Margarita Al Pastor. The menu is based on ingredients that pay homage to Oaxaca, and the milk punch with mezcal Rosita de Cacao is a local favorite, a must. Thirteen years later, the party is still going strong. They have two locations: one in Polanco and one in Roma.
